How to Connect to Your Terraria Server

Finding Your Server Address

Your server IP and port are shown in your AgilaHost dashboard under your order details, or in the game panel Console tab. The default Terraria port is 7777, but your assigned port may be different.

Connecting from Terraria

  1. Open Terraria
  2. Click Multiplayer
  3. Select your character
  4. Click Join via IP
  5. Enter your server IP address
  6. Enter the port number
  7. If the server has a password, enter it when prompted

Connecting with tModLoader

If the server runs tModLoader, you must also run tModLoader on your client with the same mods installed:

  1. Install tModLoader from Steam (it is a free DLC for Terraria)
  2. Open tModLoader and install the same mods the server is running
  3. Follow the same connection steps above

Important: Your tModLoader version must match the server version. If you get a version mismatch error, update your client or check with the server admin.

Troubleshooting

  • "Connection timed out" — Make sure the server is running in the panel. Double-check the IP and port
  • "Mod version mismatch" — Your client mods do not match the server. Install the exact same mods and versions
  • tModLoader version mismatch — Your client tModLoader version differs from the server. Update to match
  • Cannot see mods in-game — Make sure you launched Terraria through tModLoader, not vanilla Terraria
