Customizing Your Server (Name, Description, Header Image)

Rust · 29 views · Updated 4 hours ago

What Players See in the Server Browser

  • Server Name — The title of your server in the list
  • Description — Text shown when players click on your server
  • Header Image — A banner image at the top of your server info page
  • Server URL — A clickable link (usually to your website or Discord)

How to Customize

  1. Go to the Startup tab in your game panel
  2. Update the relevant fields:
    • Server Name: Edit the server name field
    • Description: Edit the server description field
    • Header Image: Provide a direct URL to your image (recommended: 512x256 pixels, PNG or JPG)
    • Server URL: Enter a link to your website, Discord, or community page
  3. Restart your server for changes to take effect

Server Name Tips

  • Include key info players look for: region, wipe schedule, rates, and server type
  • Example: AgilaHost PH | 2x Modded | Weekly Wipe | Active Admin
  • Avoid excessive symbols or special characters — they can make your server harder to find in search

Description Tips

  • Mention your wipe schedule so players know what to expect
  • List key plugins or features
  • Keep it organized — players scan quickly, so use short paragraphs

Header Image Notes

Rust restricts which domains are allowed for header images. If your image does not display, try hosting it on a commonly accepted CDN or image host.
