Finding Your Server Address
Your server IP address and port are shown in your AgilaHost dashboard under your order details, or in the game panel under the Console tab header. The default Rust port is 28015, but your assigned port may be different.
Method 1: Direct Connect via Console (Recommended)
- Open Rust
- Press F1 to open the in-game console
- Type:
client.connect IP:PORT(e.g.,client.connect 125.253.92.5:28015) - Press Enter — you will start connecting immediately
Method 2: Server Browser
- Open Rust and go to Play Game
- Select the correct tab:
- Community — if your server does NOT have Oxide/uMod
- Modded — if your server has Oxide/uMod installed
- Use the search bar to find your server by name
- Click the server and press Join Server
Tip: Enable the "Show Empty" filter at the bottom — Rust hides servers with zero players by default.
Method 3: Add to Favorites
- In the server browser, click the Favorites tab
- Click Add a Server and enter your
IP:PORT - Click Add to Favorites
- Double-click the server to connect
Troubleshooting
- Server not found in browser — Try direct connect via F1 console first. New servers can take 10–15 minutes to appear in the browser
- "Connection Attempt Failed" — The server may still be starting. Wait a minute and try again
- Stuck on "Loading" for a long time — Rust has long initial load times, especially on first join. This is normal and depends on your computer speed
- "Disconnected: Wrong Connection Protocol" — Your Rust client version does not match the server. Make sure both are updated. This is common right after the monthly update
- Make sure you are running Rust, not Rust Staging Branch — The staging branch connects to a different set of servers
