How to Connect to Your Valheim Server

Finding Your Server Address

Your server IP and port are in your AgilaHost dashboard or the game panel Console tab. The default Valheim game port is 2456 (UDP).

Method 1: In-Game Server Browser

1. Open Valheim
2. Click Start Game, select your character
3. Click Join Game
4. Click Add Server
5. Enter IP:2456 (your actual IP and port)
6. Click Connect and enter the server password

Method 2: Steam Server Browser

1. In Steam, go to View → Game Servers
2. Click Favorites → Add a Server
3. Enter your IP:2457 (the query port, one above the game port)
4. Once added, right-click and Connect

Troubleshooting

• "Disconnected" immediately — Password must be at least 5 characters and must NOT match the world name. Check both in the Startup tab
• Server not found in browser — Make sure -public 1 is set. Try adding via IP directly
• "Incompatible version" — Your client and server must be on the same Valheim version. Update both
• Connection timed out — Verify the server is running and that both UDP ports (2456 and 2457) are open
