Steps:
- Log in to your Pterodactyl panel.
- Select the server you want to upload files to.
- Navigate to the "Files" tab. This tab shows the directory structure of your server's file system.
- Locate the directory where you want to upload the file. You can navigate through the directories using the tree view or by typing the path in the address bar.
- Click the "Upload" button at the top right of the page.
- Select the file you want to upload from your local computer or simply drag and drop your file
- Click the "Open" button to start the upload process.
- Monitor the upload progress. The progress bar will indicate the upload status.
- Once the upload is complete, the file will appear in the list of files in the selected directory.
Additional Tips:
- Create new directories if needed by clicking the "Create Directory" button.
- Rename or delete files by right-clicking on them and selecting the appropriate option.
- Download files from the server by right-clicking on them and selecting "Download". You cannot download a Folder. But you can download Archive files.
By following these steps, you should be able to successfully upload files to your Pterodactyl server.
Uploading and Downloading Large Files and Folders
Steps
- Open FileZilla: Launch the FileZilla application.
- Connect to your Server:
- Quick Connect: In the toolbar, click the "Quick Connect" button.
- Enter Details:
- Host: Enter the IP address or domain name of your server.
- Port: Usually 2022 for SFTP by default. Leaving it blank also automates the default 2022.
- User: Enter your username for the server.
- Password: Enter your password.
- Click Connect: FileZilla will attempt to connect.
- Navigate to the Desired Directory:
- Local Site: This is your local computer's file system. Navigate to the directory where your files are located.
- Remote Site: This is your server's file system. Navigate to the directory where you want to upload the files.
- Upload Files:
- Drag and Drop: Drag files or folders from the local site to the remote site.
- Right-Click: Right-click on a file or folder, select "Upload" and choose the desired options.
- Monitor Transfer: FileZilla will display the transfer progress, including speed and time remaining.
- Disconnect: When finished, click the "Disconnect" button to close the connection.

- File Synchronization: FileZilla can synchronize directories between your local and remote systems.
- Transfer Queue: You can add multiple files or folders to the transfer queue and manage them together.
- Bookmarks: Save frequently used server connections as bookmarks for quick access.
- FTP vs. SFTP: While FTP is simpler, SFTP offers enhanced security, making it recommended for sensitive data transfers.
