Understanding the Update Process:
Pterodactyl panel relies on the official Minecraft server download links. Whenever Mojang releases a new Minecraft server version, it's reflected in the available options within Pterodactyl.
Here's how to update your Minecraft server to the latest version:
Step-by-Step Guide:
- Stop the Server:
- Log into your Pterodactyl panel.
- Navigate to your Minecraft server.
- Stop your server.
- Backup Your Server (Optional but Recommended):
- While not strictly necessary, creating a backup can be a safety net.
- Navigate to the "Backup" tab of your server.
- Create a new backup.
- Delete the old server.jar file
- Go to the "FILES" tab and look for the old server.jar file
- Delete this file
- Update the Server Version:
- Go to the "Startup" tab of your server.
- Locate the "Server Version" field.
- Ensure the word "Latest" is input in the text field.
- Go to Click "Settings" then click the "Reinstall" button.
- The reinstall button does not delete any file. It will simply download the latest server.jar file based on the version you want.
- Start the Server:
- Once the reinstallation process is complete, you may now start your server.
