How to change version or downgrade my Minecraft

Understanding the Update Process:

Pterodactyl panel relies on the official Minecraft server download links. Pterodactyl is linked to the Minecraft version repository, it's reflected in the available options within Pterodactyl.

Here's how to downgrade your Minecraft server to any version:

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Stop the Server:
    • Log into your Pterodactyl panel.
    • Navigate to your Minecraft server.
    • Stop your server.
  2. Backup Your Server (Optional but Recommended):
    • While not strictly necessary, creating a backup can be a safety net.
    • Navigate to the "Backup" tab of your server.
    • Create a new backup.
  3. Delete the old server.jar file
    • Go to the "FILES" tab and look for the old server.jar file
    • Delete this file
  4. Update the Server Version:
    • Go to the "Startup" tab of your server.
    • Locate the "Server Version" field.
    • Change your server version to the version you want.
    • Go to Click "Settings" then click the "Reinstall" button.
      • The reinstall button does not delete any file. It will simply download the latest server.jar file based on the version you want.
  5. Start the Server:
    • Once the reinstallation process is complete, you may now start your server.
